By nature, we "acquire" languages. It gets complicated when we try to "learn" them.

It is this cycle of listening, recalling, speaking and adjusting that builds fluency.

This same environment is needed to learn a new language, one where we can listen to others speak and verbally respond to the degree that we choose to, but as adults, recreating this immersive environment necessary to learn a new language is not easy.
